Born on 7 August 1996, in Hamburg, he was taught music as a child by his mother, the pianist Lilya Zilberstein, and then by Julia Suslin. By the age of nine, he was winning competitions for young musicians in Germany, and two years later he began studying with Julija Botchkovskaia at the Andreas Franke Academy in Hamburg. He has taken part in masterclasses given by Robert Levin, Joseph Paratore and Dmitry Bashkirov. Since winning the Grand Prix in a competition for piano duets, he has frequently played with his brother, Daniel. He has also performed with Martha Argerich, Dora Schwarzberg, Frank Braley and such ensembles as the Taipei Symphony Orchestra and the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento.
