Born on 15 September 1987, in Seoul, she graduated in 2007 from the Korean National University of Arts, where she was taught by Choong-Mo Kang. Since then, she has been studying with John O’Conor and Thérèse Fahy at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where she gained her diploma in 2009 and is now a doctoral student. Since September 2012, she has also been training with Pavel Gililov at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, where in 2014 she completed post-graduate studies and began a course in chamber music. In 2013, she won the International Telekom Beethoven Competition in Bonn and the Arturo Benedetto Michelangeli Academy in Eppan, having triumphed in the Maria Canals Competition in Barcelona a year earlier. In 2009, she was third in the AXA International Piano Competition in Dublin and two years later came fourth in the Hong Kong International Piano Competition. She has performed as a soloist with the philharmonic orchestras of Macedonia, Bonn, Hong Kong, Cracow, Lublin and Rzeszów, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and Irish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (RTÉ).
