On 26 July, Hiroko Nakamura, one of the most outstanding Japanese Chopin interpreters, sadly passed away. Winner of fourth prize in the 7th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in 1965 and later a juror of the competition, she made a considerable contribution to enhancing the remarkable popularity of Chopin’s music in Japan.
